My Journey into Computer Science and Blogging
Introduction
Hello there! I'm a university student with a strong passion for information systems and technology. Last year, I officially began studying computer science, and it has been an exciting journey so far.
For the longest time I have been fond of computers and all that there is to them. All the way from middle school, computer classes or some of the math classes that had something to do with coding or the basics of the theory behind it were always my favorite. That’s why it was very easy for me to decide where to apply after graduating high school.
Looking back, I always wished there had been more coding-related courses available in school. I did consider learning to code as a hobby, but schoolwork was enough work on its own. My interest never faded, so I decided to just wait until I applied for a university since I was planning on applying for this field anyway.
My interests in technology and gaming
Video games have always been my favorite way to pass time. I remember my first time playing anything was on my mom's phone. It was Angry birds, and I remember it cost 99 cents at the app store. After that I got a console as a Christmas present when I was 6.
Nowadays I've switched to computers and even assembled my own. It was a bit difficult planning everything, but it all worked out in the end. Maybe the hardest part was installing the CPU cooler or connecting the case buttons to the motherboard.
Other than that, I sometimes go to the gym or draw occasionally. Maybe one day, I’ll develop my own game. Who knows?
Why I’m starting a blog
Blogging is something I haven’t done before, but I hope this turns out to be all right. My main goal is to learn something, anything. I believe that as long as I'm learning, anything I do is worthwhile.
In addition to improving my writing skills, I want to improve my communication abilities. I find it’s difficult to always find the correct words for portraying my idea or message in a clear way, so the other person understands what I’m trying to communicate.
Looking ahead
As I continue writing, I hope to explore topics related to technology, gaming, and perhaps even my experiences as a student. If you're interested in these subjects or simply curious about my journey, ask in the comments!
I have also always loved gaming and computers since I was a little kid. Unlike you, I didn't think of making it into a career until a few years ago. I have never been much of a coder myself and I actually disliked the coding courses that we had in middle school :O . But this year when I started to learn Java, something clicked. I began to like coding and I can't wait to learn more about it! Maybe we can make a game together someday ;D
ReplyDeleteI have also liked gaming since I was really young, and the first game I played was Angry Birds as well. Your blog is very informative, and I’m looking forward to your future posts.
ReplyDeleteContrary to you, I have never been much of a computer games type of guy. I have usually been limited to playing on my phone or a console as a past time. Over the last couple years I've considered getting a pc for gaming. I'm just slightly worried it will take over my life since I am quite busy as it is. Should I get into PC gaming?
ReplyDeleteThis is a great introduction to your blog! Your passion for technology and gaming really comes through, and I love how you share your personal journey into computer science. Your honesty about learning and improving your communication skills makes the post relatable and engaging. Looking forward to reading more about your experiences and insights in future posts!
ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed this post. Also nothing really beats playing games after a long week of college.
